Of grief counselors and gemstones: Servus TV format “In Ewigkeit Amen” on the topic of grief and death
Grief and death—these two topics often have little space in our lives. Many associate them solely with negative emotions. However, grief and death have many facets—they touch us, fascinate us, and are simply a part of life.
This raises inevitable questions for many: Is there life after death? What remains of us when we are no longer here? How should those left behind cope with loss? And what paths—both traditional and unconventional—exist for processing grief?
One person who recently set out in search of answers is Conny Bürgler. For the Servus TV show *Hoagascht*, the reporter met with people who deeply engage with these topics—including us at Mevisto. This journey resulted in the episode *In Ewigkeit Amen*, which aired on November 10 and remains available online in the media library until December 10.
An emotional look at the topics of death and mourning
The episode begins with a shot of the Kalvarienberg in the pilgrimage site of Maria Plain, Salzburg. Here, Conny Bürgler meets Father Michael Unger, who is convinced: There is life after death.
Later, the host speaks with Simone Rockenschaub, who became a grief counselor following a personal tragedy.
Conny Bürgler also visits the funeral industry trade fair in Salzburg for the Servus TV program. At first glance, the event makes one thing clear: The funeral industry has become an important economic sector.

The fair is not only home to traditional exhibitors such as coffin makers, urn manufacturers, and funeral vehicle producers but also to companies dedicated to new forms of grief processing and burial.
The range of offerings includes digital grief support services with accompanying apps, memorial websites that preserve life stories for future generations, and even forest memorial ceremonies that can be experienced firsthand at the fair through VR headsets.
We at Mevisto were also present at the fair, showcasing our unique memorial pieces. By transforming hair or ashes into personalized gemstones, we create lasting, tangible memories—offering people a meaningful and unconventional way to say goodbye to their loved ones.
Behind the scenes: A guest at Mevisto in Kirchham
For the Servus TV program *Hoagascht*, Conny Bürgler also visited the Mevisto headquarters in Kirchham to learn more about the motivation behind our work.
Among those featured in the segment were company founder Gerald Reiter and owner Daniela Reiter.
The episode also provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes look inside our Mevisto laboratory and gemstone-cutting workshop.
